Staff Information

Tapawingo Trails Camp aims to provide a fun and nurturing environment where teens and young women can develop real-life skills including the ability to work on a team, organization, management and leadership skills.

Positions:   

There are a variety of staff positions available each summer including Counsellors, Lifeguards, Program Leaders & Assistants, Groundskeeper, Head & Assistant Cooks, Kitchen Helpers, Camp Nurse, Counsellors-in-Training & Leaders-in-Training Counsellors.

Counsellors:

Must be 17-yrs old by June 1st, 2021. All Assistants and Counsellors-in-Training must be 15-yrs old by June 1st, 2021.

We are hosting a hybrid version of Tapawingo Trails Camp 2021 called "Tapawingo Camp-in-a-Box and Trails Together!" and we want YOU to join us. 

All campers (9-14 yrs) will receive a themed 'Camp-in-a- Box' and each camper will be invited to go on a local group hike with Tapawingo Trails Camp Staff in August.
 

Calgary Hike Dates:

Dates: Tuesday, Aug 10th, Wednesday, Aug 11, and Thursday, August 12th

Location:  Exact hike locations around Calgary TBD

 

Edmonton Day Camp:

Dates:  Monday, August 16th, Tuesday, August 17th, and  Wednesday, August 18th

Location:  Exact hike locations around Edmonton TBD

 

You will be able to choose which city you'd like to serve as staff.  

 

THREE PARTS TO APPLYING FOR STAFF:
 

1)  Register for the LEAP Training (Mandatory for all Staff) to be held online on May 1, 

     June 5, and July 24 (partial Saturdays)    LEAP Register Here    To learn what LEAP

If you cannot make it to the May 1st LEAP Training due to the short notice please email Catherine Gay (catherinecgay@gmail.com) so you can make alternate arrangements.

3)  Staff Training & Hike ~ Practical staff training will be provided on Saturday, June

     19th.  The location and time TBD.  
 

Staff Interviews:

Camp Directors will be contacting Applicants by email to schedule interviews to be conducted via Zoom in May 2021.  

 

Note:

The Staff Training & Hike as well as all camper hikes will all follow the COVID-19 restrictions/protocols in place from the Government of Alberta at the time of the events.  

 

The Application process closes on

May 15th so don't delay!

Honorariums:  

All camp leadership positions will be given an honorarium of $50 or service hours for school projects. CITs and assistants may also receive service hours.

Special Diets:  

In cooperation with the staff member, special diets requests will be assessed and accommodated on an individual basis.
